Tarlac State University joined the nation in commemorating the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary during the hybrid flag-raising ceremony held on September 1, 2026, at the Main Campus and via Zoom.

Themed “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” the month-long celebration is spearheaded by the Office of Human Resource Development and Management.

Anchoring their messages on this week’s value focus of courage, OHRDM Director Dr. Marie Paz Angeles emphasized the courage of the heart, integrity, and excellence, reminding employees that courage serves as an anchor in public service.

“Let courage be the anchor of our service day by day, driving our passion, preserving our honor, and elevating our competence,” Dr. Angeles said.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza highlighted that courage is not recklessness or the absence of fear, but rather how one responds despite it.

“Courage is not noise; it does not announce itself. Ang tunay na tapang ay tahimik,” Pres. Mendoza said.

He also reminded employees that, amid challenging circumstances, courage can mean prioritizing one's safety and remaining connected.

“For many of you, the bravest and most obedient thing you can do this week is to stay safe, stay in touch, and let us come to you,” he further added.

The OHRDM–Training and Organizational Development Unit served as host of the ceremony at the Main Campus. The office also prepared a short raffle draw and “Breakfast for Juan Hundred Twenty-six” for employees.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brendalyn Manzano and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation Dr. Nino B. Corpuz led the flag-raising ceremonies at the Lucinda and San Isidro campuses, respectively.

TSU offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this week (September 1-5, 2026).
