The BS Nursing program of the College of Science was awarded the Level IV re-accredited certificate from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. through the Office of Quality Assurance this morning (March 11) at the College of Public Administration and Governance building.

The Level IV re-accredited status is the highest rank awarded to programs that successfully passed the AACCUP's accreditation survey.

The BS Nursing program achieved the grand mean of 4.60, garnering a rating of 5.0 in the areas of performance of graduates, community service, and planning process, while the program attained a rating of 4.0 in the areas of research and international linkages and consortia.

OQA Director Dr. Niño B. Corpuz discussed and explained these results, noting that AACCUP also gave enhancement recommendations for the program, especially for research and linkages.

Representing TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco in the program is Dr. Brigido B. Corpuz, presidential assistant, who delivered the president's message and congratulated the department and college on their hard work.

"Your commitment to the accreditation process is genuinely commendable. I am grateful to all of you for your dedication and willingness to work for the betterment of TSU… Let's all be inspired to work together to promote a culture of quality and performance through recognitions and accreditations," the presidential assistant said.

Meanwhile, in her acceptance speech, COS Dean Dr. Mary Jane N. Rigor thanked those involved in the accreditation process and emphasized the need for more collaboration with international linkages.

“Ipagpatuloy po natin 'yung ating achievement. The award is not for me, but also for all of us… I-commit po natin yung sarili natin to love, support, and trust each other,” she said.

On behalf of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, CPAG Dean Dr. Edwin T. Caoleng also congratulated the entire department for a job well done.

"I know very much as a dean also na hindi ganon kadali pumasa ng Level IV, but you surpassed all the requirements, challenges, and obstacles… Ang hinahanap po talaga diyan is internationalization, so we focus our efforts on publication kasi we cannot work on this overnight. Then, of course, we find institutional partners… It's just a matter of writing and looking for possible resources," he shared.

The Level IV re-accredited status of the BS Nursing Program is valid from November 16, 2024 to November 15, 2029. (jlmm-OPA)
